Mala Limbu was born on September 9, 1990, in Singapore. Her father is a soldier who was posted to Singapore. He got married there and Mala was born and raised.
She spent nearly 20 years of her life in Singapore but she always wanted to come back to Nepal. She loved watching Bollywood and Nepali movies during her childhood.
She says she used to watch movies of Bhuwan k.c and Salman Khan. She is a huge fan of Salman Khan. Thus, She aspires to perform an item dance with Salman Khan.
Mala is a passionate dancer. She also enjoys sports in addition to dancing. She attributes her fit figure to sports. She served as team captain for Nepal at the 8th Asian Netball Games in Colombo, Sri Lanka, in 2012, when Nepal finished 9th.

After returning from Singapore, Mala Limbu started modeling for some music videos. Her beautiful face and well-toned body helped her to garner public attention. She has appeared in hundreds of music videos. To name some, she appeared in Naren Limbu’s Malai Vanna aundaina, Mohan Rai’s Syamuna, Sujan Timilsina’s Hey Kanchi, and so on.
After appearing in music videos for some time, Mala was approached for the movie. She was supposed to debut from Goodbye Kathmandu but the movie was never released.
She then appeared in movies such as Rato Ghar, One way, and Parva. She rose to fame after doing an item song in the movie Parva. The song Kale dai was the national anthem. It was everywhere and so was the Mala Limbu.
